Throw Like A Girl
Thea was honored to be asked to play the role of Julie Benter in The upcoming short film Throw Like A Girl. Based on true events, Throw like a girl is the enduring legacy of Jackie Mitchell — the 17-year-old girl who struck out Babe Ruth.
Overview: In 1931, a 17-year-old girl named Jackie Mitchell struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig back-to-back. Four days later, she was banned from baseball because it considered was “too strenuous” for women. A lot has changed since 1931. Unfortunately, the perception of women in professional baseball isn’t one of them.
